Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hjh Rohani Arshad has extensive experiences in both; nursing management and nursing education for 50 years; 25 years in the health service as staff nurse, nurse manager and Matron. Meanwhile 20 years in the academic world as lecturer, Head of Department and Director for the Postgraduate studies. A member of the Malaysian Nursing Curriculum committee, she has prepared and evaluated curriculums for BSc, MSc and Postgraduate programmes. She has written five books, the latest; Effective Communication in Nursing and her authobiographic book, the impact of being a nurse.
Volunteering is in her blood, strings of NGOs had befitted from her contributions. Due to her commitments, passions and excellent contributions, she was awarded the Tokoh Jururawat of Malaysia in 2008 by the Ministry of Health; Tokoh Jururawat 2014 (Education) by Malaysian Nurses Association; triple honouree of the Cemerlang award and was given the dedication award by University of Malaya. Her greatest passion is leadership and management. Since 2008, she did workshops in these areas for both Public and Private Health organizations of Malaysia, Brunei, Pakistan and Indonesia.
